I am moved by how much Miss Representation is empowering females to see their true selves, and who we really are as women in this world, in a completely new dimension.
Just wanted to take a moment to share what a size 10 actress in “LA LA Land” is doing. I have been inspired to use the media, to redefine the image of beauty in Hollywood! I have created a mocumentary style web series where the ideal beauty is a size 18! Hollywood Stars who stroll the red carpet are voluptuous, full and curvaceous and society aspires to embody this image. Society striving toward attaining this Hollywood beauty can be humorous, dangerous and at times profound. Calle, a size 10, out of work actress, creates an online vlog dedicated to capturing the chaos and truth behind The Holly Woodlands Phenomenon.
The World of Holly Woodlands, is dedicated to everyone who has looked in the mirror and called themselves “fat.” This script was written for anyone who has starved themselves or stuck a finger in there mouth to vomit, all in a crusade to look like the thin figure that graces the cover of magazines, posing for you in the grocery store aisles. The web series is for the ones who are addicted to cutting and mutilating their bodies in order to become that physical form that they think is worth more than themselves. This story is for anyone who has compared their own physical being to that portrait that the media projects into our society, and has ever believed the media’s whispers, that seep into our thoughts, saying to us that this size 0 figure is what is perfect, and anything else falls short. This up coming season is inspired by every person who does not know, or might not ever know, their true beauty. By turning our own world upside down in this web series, I hope to expose the truth about our own reality. My desire is that we will all begin to embrace the authenticity of our own beauty, and begin to own our physical, mental emotional and spiritual brilliance. A women with that insight has the ability to see the magnificence in others and a woman like that has the ability transform this world. We are currently in pre production for Season 2.
